Uncommitted 2020 Pitchers

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

With the spring season approaching, we are looking at uncommitted seniors. Last week, we highlighted position players. Next up, we have pitchers who remain uncommitted and should be watched closely.

Blake Andersen, RHP, Olathe East HS, KS
Andersen has long legs on a 6-foot-2, 173-pound frame. He is loose and over the top with his arm action, and maintains body control in his delivery, which is smooth and repeatable. His fastball has occasional downhill action at 77-81 mph and the curveball has 11/5 shape with late break at 64-66. The changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed at 74-75 and shows arm-side sink.

Dawson Beckett, RHP, Logan HS, WV
Beckett has shown good poise and control on the mound. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-hander has sat 79-80, touching 81. He’s not overpowering, but his control and ability to throw four pitches for strikes at any time had gotten the attention of schools throughout the region. Beckett has the potential to be a reliable and ready arm as early as his first year on campus.
