Prep Baseball Report was at BB&T Point in High Point, NC on Sunday November 3rd.  The Uncommitted Upperclass Games featured over 30 players from the 2020 and 2021 classes going through a full pro-style workout followed by a controlled scrimmage.  PBR scouts were able to collect and verify statistics on each player while working to put a full evaluation on each player as well.

Today we begin to dive into the full player evaluations with the primary outfielders in attendance at the event.   The group of 8 primary outfielders includes multiple sub-7.00 runners with exit velocities over 90 mph and carry from the position.  A solid corp of players, several will probably be off the board prior to the spring season.

Carrington Williams OF / LHP / Jordan, NC / 2021 Rankings  StateRank: 142 / POS: 22 5 foot 5, 160-pound average build.  Hits from the left side using a balanced setup.  Small leg kick during his load with quiet hands.  Mostly flat barrel path looking to work through the middle of the field.  Average bat speed and barrel awareness.  Exit velocity recorded at 84 mph.  Plays through balls in the outfield with average hands.  Clean transfers with a long arm action, throwing from a high ¾ slot.  Accurate arm with some carry that topped at 79 mph.  Recorded a 7.39 in the 60. Fastball plays with sink, heavy at times at 72-74.  Some feel for the breaking ball.  Early, gradual 2/8 sweeping tilt at 63-64.  Stable over the rubber working on-line with a long arm swing to a high-3/4 slot.  Average arm speed and extension.  Some effort as the front side lands in-line with an open front foot.  Level throughout, works around the zone.

Benjamin Kaiser OF / LHP / Northern Guilford , NC / 2021 5 foot 11, 167-pound average build.  Switch hitter.  Sets up balanced from both sides, using a similar load with his weight and hands working slowly back with a short stride.  Looser hands from the left side with more bat speed and strength.  Works mostly middle to his pull side from both sides, hitting more line drives from the left.  Average barrel awareness and bat speed with his exit velocity recorded at 80 mph.  Works to the ball in the outfield, catching the ball deep at times with average hands.  Clean transfers with an accurate arm that topped at 74 mph.  Recorded a 7.68 in the 60.

Connor Flanagan OF / SS / Raleigh Hawks Homeschool, NC / 2020 Athletic build at 6 foot 1, 175-pounds.  Filled the stat sheet throughout the workout.  Quickness is present running a 6.91 sixty.  Hits from the right side with a balanced setup.  Hands work back during the load with a short stride.  Quick hands with a mostly flat barrel path.  Worked gap to gap with strength to his pull side.  Above average bat speed with his exit velocity recorded at 92 mph.  Fluid and athletic in the outfield, playing through balls with average hands.  Long arm swing, throwing from an overhand slot.  Arm has carry with some accuracy.  Positional velocity topped at 87 mph.

Jeriah Wilburn OF / 1B / Jordan, NC / 2020 6 foot, 200-pound average build.  Left hand hitter sets up tall and balanced with an even base.  Average stride with his hands working back with some bat waggle.  Barrel works short to the ball with quick hands.  Works gap to gap and squared up several balls during his second round of batting practice.  Average bat speed with his exit velocity recorded at 87 mph. Average hands in the outfield with a long arm action, throwing from an over the top slot.  Some accuracy to his throws that topped at 87 mph.  Average hands on the infield with some feel around the first base bag.  Accurate arm that topped at 69 mph.  Recorded a 7.53 in the 60.

Cole Christman OF / RHP / Apex Friendship, NC / 2020 Lanky frame at 6 foot 4, 165-pounds with room to add strength.  Balanced setup from the right side of the plate.  Uses a toe tap during the load with his weight working back over his back leg.  Quiet hands and barrel during the load.  Gap to gap approach with his hands working through the zone.  Has some barrel feel when he stays behind the ball.  Exit velocity recorded at 83 mph.  Works to the ball in the outfield, catching the ball in front of his left foot with average hands.  Longer exchange with a long arm action, throwing from an over the top slot.  Accurate arm that topped at 74 mph.  Recorded a 7.39 in the 60. Long limbs work to sync on the mound, fighting for consistent rhythm.  Slightly uphill and closed at balance, hitters sees a lot of arms and legs coming at him.  Long arm swing out of a tall balance point gets to an over-the-top release with average arm speed.  Slight reach out of the glove.  Fastball ranged 72-75 with the change-up at 66.  Curveball flashed late, downer action at 61-66.  Lacked consistent feel for any pitch but threw enough strikes to keep hitters off balance.

Jaxon Rauber OF / RHP / Southwest Guilford, NC / 2021 5 foot 10, 165-pound average frame.  Hits from the right side with a balanced setup and his hands starting away from his body in front of his back shoulder.  Hands work back during the load with a short stride.  Stays through the middle of the field with average barrel feel.  Looks to lift the ball with some strength in his swing.  Average bat speed with his exit velocity recorded at 89 mph.  Good at-bats in the game setting, showing feel for the barrel.  Athletic and aggressive through balls in the outfield.  Quick arm from a high ¾ slot.  Throws topped at 88 mph with some carry and accuracy.  Recorded a 7.28 in the 60.

Joshua Deslauriers OF / SS / Northern Guilford , NC / 2021 Athletic build at 6 foot 1, 175-pounds.  Hits from the right side with a balanced setup.  Short stride with quiet hands during his load.  Quick hands with strength in his swing.  Stays through the middle of the field with better than average bat speed and barrel feel.  Exit velocity recorded at 91 mph.  Athletic in the outfield with average hands.  Accurate arm with some carry that topped at 84 mph.  Fluid actions on the infield with some softness to his hands.  Funnels to his belt after catch with an accurate arm to first base.  Some carry to his throws that topped at 83 mph.  Recorded a 7.18 in the 60.

Jack Shaw OF / 1B / Myers Park, NC / 2020 Athletic, strong build at 6 foot 3, 195-pounds.  Filled the stat sheet throughout the workout and stood out in the game setting.  Hits from the right side with a balanced setup with his bat starting flat above his back shoulder.  Smooth load with a short stride.  Made consistent hard contact throughout his batting practice rounds driving the ball gap to gap.  Hammered a ball to left field during game action.  Above average bat speed and barrel awareness with his exit velocity recorded at 90 mph.  Plays fluid through balls in the outfield with average hands.  Accurate arm with carry that topped at 84 mph.  Cut down a runner at the plate from routine left field with an accurate, strong throw in game play.  Recorded a 6.90 in the 60.
