Welcome To PBR North Carolina
June 16, 2016
With great pleasure, we bring to you Prep Baseball Report North Carolina. Our mission in North Carolina mirrors that of other state-specific coverage: to provide the most comprehensive in-state information, to promote high school baseball and, ultimately help North Carolina prep athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level. Our goal is to be the No. 1 resource for high school baseball in North Carolina.
Although it will take some time to achieve the status of our other 31 states, we are certain we have the right person to thoroughly, accurately and honestly cover North Carolina:
Brandon Hall.
Hall’s baseball roots and experiences run deep throughout North Carolina. Raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Hall just concluded his seventh year as associate head coach at UNC Charlotte, and 14th season total with the coaching staff. Hall also served as the recruiting coordinator for 11 seasons during his tenure.
Prior to joining the coaching staff at Charlotte, Hall spent four seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, UNC Wilmington, where he also worked with the pitchers. In all, Hall Has spent the last 18 years coaching at the Division I level in North Carolina.
For the second-straight year, Hall was named to the USA Baseball Tournament of Stars coaching staff in which he will assist the 2015 18U National Team in selecting the participants for the National Team trials.
In his 18 seasons as an assistant at the two schools, Hall's teams have won eight regular-season championships and seven of his pitching staffs have been ranked nationally in ERA, including the top spot in the nation in 2007 (at 2.64). The 2011 squad finished 10th in the country with a 2.81 ERA, while allowing the sixth-fewest hits per nine innings (7.43) in the nation.
Hall also spent two summers on the coaching staff of the Wilson Tobs in the Coastal Plain League. In 2001, he served as the Tobs' manager and guided the team to a berth in the CPL Finals, coaching in the league's all-star game that summer.
Now Hall will bring his baseball experiences and connections to North Carolina’s prep baseball scene. Hall will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information North Carolina has ever seen and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state. But he can’t do it alone. Please email him at [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.
North Carolina-specific events will begin next fall. Prep Baseball Report events are designed to give players the maximum exposure needed to advance to the next level. Not only will players receive high-level exposure from college coaches, but all players at events will be videotaped, and the edited performance will be hosted online. All players’ profiles, verified statistics and scouting reports can be searched in our expansive player database.
Our flagship state, Prep Baseball Report Illinois, was launched in 2005.
