Wild 5th Leads to Game 1 Win for Wesleyan

Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

The 1st game of a best of three series to decide the NCISAA 3A State Champion was played on Friday at Charlotte Country Day School, a neutral site.  Charlotte Christian School and Wesleyan Christian Academy faced off for the 2nd time in two years for the state title.

WCA ran ace, Brett Kerry to the bump.  Kerry worked a complete game, striking out 10 without issuing a walk.  In control for most of the game, Kerry threw 117 pitches, 84 for strikes as he pounded the zone, working ahead of 63% of the 30 hitters faced.

In the 5th, down 2-0, Christian began to make some noise.
