2026 Prep Baseball Scout Day: On Deck O’s

Prep Baseball North Carolina continued its fall Scout Day schedule with the 2026 Prep Baseball Scout Day: On Deck O's, working with players from the organization across two workout dates. Splitting the event allowed On Deck to continue with its fall development plan while giving Prep Baseball scouts an opportunity to collect updated statistics, analytics, video, and evaluations on the players in attendance.

The first portion of the workout was held on Wednesday, September 9th, featuring bullpens, running evaluations, and defensive work. Arm velocities and catcher pop times were recorded during the defensive evaluations, while pitchers worked through controlled bullpens with TrackMan capturing ball-flight data on each pitch.

Players returned on Wednesday, September 16th for the offensive portion of the evaluation. Hitters worked through rounds of batting practice with TrackMan tracking each batted ball, providing verified exit velocities, distances, and additional ball-flight metrics.

Each participating player will also receive an updated Prep Baseball profile video in the coming weeks. Combined with the statistics and advanced analytics collected during the two workouts, the video provides another tool for college coaches and professional scouts to track and assess players as they continue to grow and develop.

Prep Baseball NC will break down the On Deck O's Scout Day through statistical leaderboards, data analysis, and scouting coverage highlighting the players and performances from the event.

VALD PERFORMANCE

TOP 60-YARD DASH

Traditionally, the 60-yard dash has been the in-event standard to help measure a player's speed tool. We implemented three timing gates at the 10-yard split, to capture athletes’ quickness, explosiveness and reaction time. While the 60-yard measurement still has its utility, the 10-yard split has started to become more and more applicable in determining the player's burst and reaction time in-game, whether that's in the outfield or on the basepaths.
