UNC Wilmington Hosts the Latest Fall ID

Prep Baseball North Carolina continued its fall schedule on Sunday, October 25th with the Fall Campus Series: UNC Wilmington, hosted on campus at UNCW's Brooks Field. A talented group of players went through a complete pro-style workout, producing several impressive performances and numbers throughout the day.

The Fall Campus Series provides players an opportunity to update their statistics, metrics, analytics, and video as they prepare for their offseason development. The information gathered also continues to build each player's history on his Prep Baseball profile, giving college coaches and professional scouts another verified look at his progression over time.

The workout opened with athletic testing as players ran a laser-timed 60-yard dash using the VALD Athletics timing system. In addition to the full 60 time, 10-yard and 30-yard splits were recorded to provide a more detailed look at acceleration and overall speed.

Players then moved into offensive evaluations with multiple rounds of batting practice on Brooks Field. TrackMan tracked ball flight off the bat while BLAST Motion collected swing metrics, providing an analytical look at each hitter's offensive performance. Players also completed Vizual Edge testing, which evaluates how an athlete sees, processes, and reacts to visual information in space rather than simply measuring traditional eyesight.

Defensive evaluations followed from each player's primary position, giving the Prep Baseball scouting staff an opportunity to evaluate athleticism, movement, actions, arm strength, carry, and accuracy.

The event concluded with controlled bullpens for pitchers and catchers, providing a final opportunity to evaluate pitchers' deliveries, stuff, command, and arsenals while getting an extended look at the catchers behind the plate.

With several players posting strong numbers throughout the workout, Prep Baseball NC will continue to break down the Fall Campus Series: UNC Wilmington through statistical leaderboards, Data Dives, and scouting coverage highlighting the top performances from the event.
