Prep Baseball was at McCrary Park in Asheboro, NC on Saturday November 2nd and Sunday November 3rd for the Fall Top Prospect Games.  Saturday featured the Underclass event, with players from the 2027 and 2028 classes.  Sunday the 2025 and 2026 grads participated in the Upperclass event.  Designed for top uncommitted players in North Carolina, there was plenty of talent on hand for each day of the event.

Players opened their day with body measurements, grip strength testing, jump tests, and their offensive workout.  Defensive workouts were next, with players working out at the positions of their choice, giving scouts a chance to see their movement, arm action, arm strength, and feel for the glove. Players followed their defensive testing with a laser timed 60 yard dash.  VALD Performance lasers were used to capture the 60 time, plus a 10yd and 30yd split.  

Following the workout, players took part in a controlled scrimmage with pitchers facing live hitters.  As the game concluded a "machine" scrimmage gave the hitters more at-bats and position players a ton of defensive reps.  Prep Baseball scouts were on hand and will be reporting on player performance throughout November, and into the spring season.

Jack Bolte 1B / OF / Cardinal Gibbons, NC / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 172 / POS: 11 Physical presence. Coils around back hip. Over-the-top slot. Average arm speed. Around the zone with a 3 pitch mix.

Jeter Bynum LHP / OF / Pine Lake Prep, NC / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 192 / POS: 16 Intriguing lefty that missed barrels. Lean, athletic build. Solid arm speed. Fastball has ride and run, consistently getting hitters to miss the barrel.  Breaking ball spin up to 2591rpm, missed bats with 2/8 tilt.

Isaac Devine OF / LHP / Overhills High, NC / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 185 / POS: 37 Athletic mover. Average frame. Easy arm action. High-3/4 slot. Early run, heavy at times. Erratic but played to his advantage when in the zone. Up to 82 with ride and run. Breaking ball spin averaged 2320rpm.

Crawford Elrod 3B / SS / Westchester Country Day, NC / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 134 / POS: 9 Broad shoulders. Athletic build. Fastball ranged 83-87 with heavy run. Breaking ball flashed short, late, abrubt action at 71-73, peaking at 2430rpm.

Trevor Friend OF / RHP / Wake Forest, NC / 2026 Long, lean, and athletic. Fastball bumped 86 with ride through the zone. Got swing and miss in the zone with fastball. Medium arm through a high-3/4 slot. Whippy arm through release.

Cassius Grimsley OF / RHP / Fuquay-Varina, NC / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 125 / POS: 22 Intriguing prospect that is beginning to scratch the surface of what his stuff could become. Athletic frame with length. Still young and maturing. Frame will handle strength gains. Long arm swing to a 3/4 slot. Advanced arm speed.  Action on the ball left and right from a similar window.  Slider has length. Fastball sink creates barrel misses.

Peyton Kozink RHP / SS / Jordan, NC / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 112 / POS: 36 Potential high riser in the coming year. Athletic mover with a proportional, athletic build. Short arm action loads the scap with some effort. Good arm speed through a high-3/4 slot. Up to 85.5 with solid ride.  Slider is abrupt with horizontal length at 74-76.

Jaxon Mabe 3B / 2B / Uwharrie Charter Academy, NC / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 196 / POS: 14 Straight line build with some length and strength present. Simple and repeatable delivery. Long arm action to a high-3/4 slot with good arm speed. Commanded breaking ball. 2/8 tilt through the zone.

Owen Mitchell C / RHP / Bunn, NC / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 130 / POS: 15 Strength present. Powerful build. Bumped 86 with average to above ride through the zone. Breaking ball has downer action creating issues for hitters. Medium arm swing. Over-the-top slot. Average to above arm speed. Arm strength over arm speed.

Brady Robinson OF / RHP / Sanderson, NC / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 173 / POS: 34 Lean athletic frame. Plenty of room for projection as he continues to mature. Athletic mover. Has twitch. Simple and stable over the rubber. Long, athletic arm swing. High-3/4 slot. Good arm speed. Up to 86 with ride through the zone. Got chase at the top of the zone. Sweep over depth from the breaking ball at 70-74, 2075rpm.

Dylan Stacks RHP / 3B / North Brunswick, NC / 2026 Broad shoulders. Strength present. Simple and stable over the rubber. Long arm swing. Good rhythm. Over-the-top with above average arm speed. When down zone, fastball has solid angle, creating issues for hitters. Peaked at 85. Sweep over depth from the breaking ball. Late length at times.
