Charlie Beck, SS, Central Davidson, 2027
A true baseball player with the ability to stick in the middle of the diamond, he shows a quick first step and sub-7.0 speed. At the plate, the left-handed hitter features a smooth swing with advanced rhythm, some barrel whip, and the ability to drive the ball to both gaps. A grinder in the box, he consistently works deep at-bats and makes pitchers earn their outs.
Carter Huff, SS, Reagan HS, 2027
Compact and athletic, the switch-hitter features a short, direct swing from both sides of the plate with above-average bat speed and a line-drive approach. He shows the ability to consistently find the barrel and spray line drives around the diamond. A good runner with sub-7.00 speed, he brings added athleticism to the table and can handle the left side of the infield. Defensively, he shows reliable actions with an accurate arm that has been clocked up to 85 mph across the diamond, giving him the tools to stick on the left side.
Jackson Stepp, SS, West Henderson, 2027
A twitchy right-handed hitting middle infielder with above-average bat speed and an aggressive approach at the plate. Uses good leverage in his swing to generate impact, showing the ability to drive the ball with authority to the pull side. Defensively, he does a nice job playing the ball out in front of his body and features a big arm, reaching up to 90 mph across the diamond. A quick first step helps him cover ground defensively and translates to solid straight-line speed, with run times just under 7.00 seconds in the 60-yard dash.
Levi Kerr, SS, Marvin Ridge, 2028
The top-ranked shortstop in the 2028 class brings an impressive blend of size, athleticism, and impact tools. At 6-foot-5 and nearly 200 pounds, he has the frame and skill set to play at a high level for years to come. A sub-7.0 runner in the 60 with an arm that exceeds 90 mph across the diamond, his athleticism translates defensively. Despite his size, he works underneath the baseball with efficient footwork, smooth exchanges, and the ability to deliver accurate throws from multiple arm slots. At the plate, a simple, repeatable setup and load support a true gap-to-gap approach with plenty of juice. A high level athlete, Kerr is generating interest on the gridiron as a QB as well.
Easton Booser, SS, Wake Forest, 2028
Compact build with strength and quickness apparent. Switch-hitting middle infielder. Plays the game with pace and energy. He shows a similar stance and approach from both sides, starting upright and relaxed before loading with purpose. Drives the baseball into the pull-side gap with authority. Defensively, quick feet and a strong feel for positioning consistently put him in a good spot to make plays. A quick glove-to-hand exchange allows him to get the baseball out efficiently and accurately. Booser shows well in the workout setting but has seen his tools bump up in live game action.
