On Deck Preview: Future Games Pitchers

Jared Carrier
Scouting Director

The countdown is on for Team New York's top 2020 and 2021 graduates. Our final preview takes us to the mound to see who will be pumping strikes and throwing gas in Indiana.

Pitchers

Teddy McGraw RHP / Oneonta , NY / 2020

McGraw has burst on the scene this summer; the 6-foot-2 180 pound RHP has worked in the 88-90 range recently and possibly could be a tick higher in Indiana. His 80-81 MPH slider at the Call to the Hall event recently was late and sharper then when we saw him on July 10th. Also broke out a change up that featured come back action at 82-83 MPH this past Tuesday in Cooperstown.

Tyler Roche RHP / Cardinal Hayes , NY / 2020

Big time projectable frame for the the 6-foot-3 165 pound RHP. Roche is all arms and legs; arm action is long and free with late life from a 3/4 slot. At the NY Games he worked 82-84 MPH, touching 85 MPH. Will not be a shocker if he puts up even better numbers in Indiana.

Von Baker RHP / Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, NY / 2020

The 6-foot-7 RHP obviously can work downhill; his 84-85 MPH FB can play better with his extended reach to the plate. Breaking ball is still looking for a defined shape in the 74-75 MPH range but he'll no doubt grab the attention of coaches in attendance.

Dylan Beers RHP / Monroe-Woodbury, NY / 2020

Beers has demonstrated command and a 3 pitch arsenal in the outings we have witnessed. Most recently at the NY games he was consistently at 85 MPH from a high 3/4 slot. Showed 3 pitch feel with a 12-6 CB and same plane change. 6-1 165 pound frame has room for additional gains.

Patrick Jarvis RHP / Manhasset, NY / 2021

Jarvis , who projects well as a position player as well, will be the only 2021 pitcher only. The 6-foot-0 160 pound RHP was up to 85 MPH recently at the NYS games with feel for his CB and CH. Up tempo delivery from a high 3/4 slot.

Derek Livingston RHP / Paul D. Schreiber, NY / 2020

Athletic 6-foot-0 175 pound frame who also like Livingston, can handle the middle of the field as a position player. On the mound he's shown a long and loose arm action in the 82-84 range including a 12-6 CB in the mid to upper 60's. Looking forward to seeing him again.

Camden Wypior RHP / West Seneca East, NY / 2020

Athletic 6-foot-0 186 pound frame; who also is solid left side infielder like Livingston and Jarvis, will take to the mound in Indiana. Was up to 84 MPH last summer, in early July. Moderate arm action with a low 3/4 arm slot; late life to FB.
