Ground Forces

As we kick off our Preseason All-State tour this weekend, we highlight some returning players that we are excited to see the results from an off season of training.

 2020 Preseason All-State - Downstate session 1

Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a slight open stance. Short simple load actions. Displayed a quick direct path to the baseball. Slight lift at the point of contact. Does a good job staying balanced throughout the swing. Defensively- the catcher was impressive during his defensive workout. The catcher displayed active footwork and fast twitch actions. Pop time range was 2.02-2.12.

Patrick Jarvis RHP / SS / Manhasset, NY / 2021

Offensively- stands in the box in a tall stance slightly open. Takes a short stride towards the pitcher before attacking the baseball. Quick to the hitting zone. Slight lift at the point of contact. Exit velocity was 81 MPH. Defensively- displayed solid actions during the infield portion. Aggressive to the baseball and under control when fielding the baseball. Takes his time gathering himself with a strong arm across the diamond. Top throwing velocity was 86 MPH. Pitching- the big right handed pitcher displayed a long loose arm action. Works mainly with a drop and drive delivery downhill. Finishes with intent, slight shoulder tilt, and smooth hand separation. FB has late life and peaked at 85 MPH. CB is sharp down in the zone and ranges from 66-68 MPH. Feel for a CH 76-77 MPH. The 2021 is a must follow going forward.

Stays under control and smooth exchange to a quick release from a high 3/4 arm slot. Throwing velocity was 81 MPH from the outfield. Pitching- the left handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery with a loose live arm. The 2021 LHP works with tempo. Displayed a fast live arm and works downhill with intent. Ralphie Pulitano SS / 3B / Archbishop Stepinac , NY / 2022

The 2022 infielder is a physical and a projectable player. At the plate, the left handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance with feet shoulder width apart. Pulitano displayed hard consistent contact during batting practice at the 2019 Fall Top Prospect Games. Defensively, Pulitano moves well laterally.
