Player Spotlight: 2019 RHP Kyle Taborne (Vestal HS)

Dan Cevette
President, New York

Our "Player Spotlights" will be reserved for any prospect across New York who's abilities on the field have made some noteworthy recent buzz. Possibly a recent event where a Top Performer Spotlight article is just not enough, or maybe a recent commitment to a major program. Whatever it is, I'll (Dan Cevette) be going in-depth on the player spotlighted below with personal insight and honest feedback. Let's get started.

Kyle Taborne RHP / OF / Vestal, NY / 2019

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: Have seen Kyle now for the past year in a half and have always  circled his name as a prospect to keep close tabs on. His build is athletic and there's clear signs of more weight to come. I like his tempo on the mound, his arm swing is clean and fast. This past FEB he peaked at 84, but we just saw him last week touch 86 with an above average CB. This summer is huge for Taborne, excited to have him at the NYS Games.

SCOUTING REPORT: Stands 5-foot-10, 150-pounds with a wiry frame that will continue to grow as he physically matures. Mechanics are clean with fluid tempo, high knee lift with a slight front shoulder tilt prior to driving towards home. Arm-action is clean with no restrictions, fastball stays on a downward plane sitting 82-84 mph with late life, curveball has advanced spin sitting in the upper 70's, 11/6 shape. Expect to see Taborne take another step forward this summer.
