Player Spotlight: 2020 LHP Max Parker (Fayetteville Manlius HS)

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: Pitchers build with a clean long arm swing that points to more velocity as he starts packing on the weight. Already shows the feel for a break ball and there's nothing during his mechanics that have me concerned. This will be a very good LHP prospect to keep an eye on over the next three years.

SCOUTING REPORT: Parker stands 6-foot-1, 155-pounds with a lean athletic build, frame to hold more weight once he physically matures. Offensively- At the plate his setup is mostly upright with a wide stance, hands relaxed. On the pitch he uses a small stride, hands drop to the hitting zone and power forward direct from a fluid path, consistent contact with easy gap-to-gap projection, exit velocity of 79 mph but expect to see that number climb. Defensively- aggressive to the ball, fields on his glove side, clean transfer, fluid arm-action with a release from a high 3/4 slot, 80 mph arm with no restrictions. Pitching- From the mound he works from a consistent tempo to his delivery, high knee lift, powers off his back side landing on the power-line. Arm-action is back and clean, releases from a high 3/4 slot with 77-78 mph fastball velocity, downward action in the zone. Curveball was 63-65 with 2/7 shape. Excited to see him this summer.
