Progress Report: '24 OF/RHP Vincent Favata (Syosett)

Last Look Notes: 2/13/22, Preseason Hudson Valley. Lean, slender 5-foot-9, 140-pound build with 7.69 footspeed in the 60YD. More to come physically, though the RH hitter finds some torque to the pull-side. Consistent feel for the barrel while posting a T85MPH EV (81 AVG) and 21MPH hand-speed. Did work around it at times; 75% ground ball rate via Trackman. The outfielder showed quality tracking skills and footwork with an accurate 77MPH throwing arm (H 3/4).

Recent Improvements: 3/4/23, Northeast Pride Scout Day. At a stronger 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, Favata generates efficient power in all phases. Pushed his run time down to 7.20 seconds with what's now to be considered two-way upside. Increased stride length and leverage at the plate, extending for distance (341FT) from a loose trigger. Natural backspin to the alleys with a T93MPH EV; +8MPH better than 2022. Reached a personal best 93MPH arm during defensive evals and hopped on the mound with three pitches at T83MPH FB. Finished the HS season batting an even .355. 

Projection: Since there's (still) room to add to a green frame, the ceiling has been raised even higher. There's a chance the run tool dips under 7.00 next, and pitching velo should see another boost in the near future. We really like the short-to-long movements offensively for power potential down the road. A name-to-know JR to keep tabs on throughout the summer.
