Progress Report: '26 RHP/OF Zach Bond (Horace Greeley)

Zach Bond RHP / OF / Horace Greeley, NY / 2026

Initial Look Notes: 3/6/22, Northeast Pride Scout Day. Lean, wiry frame with room to fill out on all sides of the ball. Showed flashes of big time arm-talent for age, going 82MPH positionally and then settled into a 78-80MPH FB range. Some length in his delivery allowing for additional gains across the board; spun future A/AVG SL with two-plane shape. Killed/faded CH at 68-70MPH offered a quality third pitch.

Recent Improvements: 3/9/23, Pitcher & Catcher Analysis. At a stronger 5-foot-11, 155-pounds, Bond created more torque in the body and really blocked off the front-side when working down the mound. The FB jumped +7MPH to T87MPH with simple separation, carrying up in the zone at times. Mixed two sharp breakers with different tilts, both in the mid-70's around 2200rpms. Held arm-speed on all four, including a diving 76-78MPH CH at 17in HM. Lived and died on the hip-hinge with ability to close the gap out in front from a H 3/4 slot.

Projection: Because there's still much to more to come physically, we're expecting another climb by the start of next spring. It's pretty smooth out of the hand and he doesn't try to overthrow, evidenced by a >50% zone rate on each pitch. The young righty has all the makings of a future starter and repeats well utilizing a perfect build of pace.
