Last Chance Preview (November 18, 2017) Perez stands in at 5-foot-9, 150-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Ran a 6.59 60-yard dash showing premium athleticism. Offensively- Lefty sets up square to the pitcher with a wide stance. Uses body momentum to aid with his trigger, hands are loose. Short and quick to the hitting zone with a level barrel path through contact. Demonstrated line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side. Fluid swing with high end potential. Will improve with added strength. Recorded an exit velocity of 82 MPH, a 2 MPH increase since October 2016. Defensively- Shows a good approach and footwork to the baseball. Fluid through the ball gaining ground and using his body momentum in the throw. Shows a quick first step with a projectable arm. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 88 MPH, an 8 MPH improvement from October 2016. Overall, Perez is making the most of his opportunities and rising fast up our 2019 rankings.
