PEREZ

At 6-foot-4, 200-pounds, Orrville senior JT Perez looks the part of a Division I athlete.

And, he has the skill set to back it up.

The left-handed hitting and throwing prospect, who stood out at both the Top Prospect Games in June and the Unsigned Senior Games in September, remains as one of the top uncommitted prospects in Ohio.

Although still a tad raw, Perez shows potential on the mound with a low to mid 80’s fastball accompanied by a sharp 68-70 mph breaking ball.

He is equally intriguing at the plate, where he has shown middle of the order power from the left side.

“I've always been in love with the hitting aspect of the game as well as playing in the field, but I realize that more schools may be interested in my pitching ability,” he said.

His list of potential suitors includes, but isn’t limited to Morehead State, Wright State, Ohio Northern, Heidelberg, Glenville State, Ohio Wesleyan, and Mount Vernon Nazarene.

“I like the schedule that Morehead State presents, playing teams like Georgia and Tennessee,” he noted.

Perez added, “I loved the field that Wright State had, with the turf and nice stadium.”

But, at this stage, he hasn’t taken any visits and is keeping his options open.

Academically, Perez maintains a 3.4 grade point average.

Perez's older brother, AJ, is currently a sophomore playing at Owens Community College.
