2021 Ohio Top Prospect Games: Quick Hits - Two-Way Talents
Sawyer Solitaria 3B / RHP / St. Ignatius, OH / 2024Report: ‘24 CIF/RHP Sawyer Solitaria came into the event with a lot of hype and did more than back it up, turning in one of the top overall performances of the entire event. The raw horsepower from the freshman undoubtedly impressed us as he ran it up to 88mph on the bump and 99mph off the bat but even more impressive is how easy he can generate it. At 6-foot-4 with |
Jake Hanley 1B / RHP / Mason, OH / 2024Report: 2024 UTL Jake Hanley showed why he’s one of the state’s most sought after prospects in the state. Came onto the scene early last summer and had a monster spring for one of the state’s top programs. The physical tools are off the charts at 6-foot-5 with upper 90s juice off the bat and upper 80s velocity off the bump. He’s fun to watch on both sides of the ball and it’s not surprising in the least why he already holds several power 5 offers. |
Andrew Edrington SS / RHP / Princeton, OH / 2023Rankings StateRank: 20 / POS: 5
Report: 2023 RHP Andrew Edrington (Princeton) is a guy who stands out in several phases of the game. The athleticism displayed on the mound makes a ton of sense after you’ve seen him take ground balls in the infield where he was one of the top glove guys we saw. Swing works and much like the mid to upper 80s heater expect more juice as he continues to add strength to his 6-foot-1 frame. |
JoJo Overbeek RHP / 1B / Anderson, OH / 2024Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 3
Report: Another talented freshman we saw was RHP/CIF Jo Jo Overbeek (Anderson). The bloodlines are there, as the older brother is a power 5 commit. Turned in a lights out performance on the bump. High velo ceiling up to 85mph with considerably more in the tank as he continues to fill out. Far from just velocity however, as he also showed a late biting slider and one of the better changeups we saw on the day. Although he stood out more on the mound on this day there is definitely two-way potential considering frame and the ability to go 90+ off the bat with ease. |
