Matthew Graveline C / RHP / Centerville, OH / 2022

Report: Graveline was as impressive as any prospect on Day 1. A good athlete with defensive versatility. Plays both the middle infield and catcher position at a high level. A high motor type that plays the game hard consistently. At the plate he hit leadoff for the Legends. The righty had a smooth, efficient loading sequence incorporating athletic/well timed movements. Path is level and swing is compact. Hands show present twitch and strength with more to come. Draws comparisons to Cincinnati commit Joe Powell.

Pierce Bauerle SS / OF / Franklin, OH / 2022

Report: Showed the top raw power of the tournament. The three-hole hitter for the Legends absolutely landed on baseballs, going 2 for 4 with both outs kept in the park because the field didn’t have a fence. Baurle is mechanically simple, allowing his advance strength and hand eye coordination go to work. Making his juice more impressive is that he does it with a lower effort swing. Definite bat to follow.

Dylan Thatcher 1B / LHP / Madeira, OH / 2022

Report: Although he plays first base at an above average clip, Thatcher stands out for his hit tool. The lefty hit fourth for the Legends and didn’t disappoint when we saw him, going 4 for 5 with 2 extra base hits. Frame is athletic and physical enough to fit in the middle of the lineup. Swing is smooth with nice, natural loft to it. Stronger than he is fast with the bat presently, but bat speed is far from a deficiency. Physical traits were impressive but equally as impressive was his approach, knowledge of the strike zone and ability to see spin.

Collin Sweeney P / Of / Lakota East, OH / 2022

Report: A good athlete with two-way capabilities. Off the bump he worked with fluid tempo and shows a relatively clean delivery in general. Arm works well while showing off a mid 70s fastball. With his athleticism and cleanliness expect him to be a higher velo guy down the road. As a position player he has a twitchy swing from the left side and plays centerfield at a high level. An upside prospect that can do a lot of things well on a baseball field.
