Another middle of the order bat who was one of, if not the most productive bat on the weekend for Team Ohio. Physical/aggressive swing without sacrificing barrel accuracy. Showed line to line flight w/natural spin. Very impressive round with consistent mid 90s jump, topping at 100mph. In game he had several hits throughout the three-game set with most of them being loud contact off the barrel. The swing/hit tool will translate to the next level and he also showed a more than serviceable skill set with the glove at the corners.

Pierce Bauerle: 3B/1B, (2022) Franklin, OH. 6-foot-2, 220-pound physical frame. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 93 mph. Started in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then used a toe tap. Bat speed is above average, exhibits a flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Created a lot of loud contact during the round. Gap to gap approach. Solid while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 81 mph; had smooth footwork, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Glovework was used out front. Used a high ¾ slot and a compact arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.65.

Pierce Bauerle: 3B/1B, (2022) Franklin, OH. 6-foot-2, 220-pound physical frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 94 mph. Began in a balanced stance with a smooth quick load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was above average, and had a level upward swing plane. Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 79 mph; has a clean exchange, smooth consistent feet, and soft hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were average. Recorded a time of 7.7 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, showed a high ¾ arm angle and a quick arm action with good arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Showed a strong balance point. Threw his fastball 79-83 mph; has arm side command and running action. His 11/5 curveball (64-67) showed gradual action. Had fading action and arm side command on his changeup (73-75).

Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Uber physical bat. Double tap timing trigger down low with quiet hands through load. Type of BP you're just sitting and waiting for him to leave the yard which he did. Prototype middle of the order bat.
Power: Legit power potential.
Offensive Projection: Middle of lineup.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 97 mph
Max BP Distance: 349 ft
Field: Corne rprofile in the infield. Serviceable ball skills with smoother feet. Nothing flashy but looks sure-handed enough to plug a corner spot.
Throw: Clean arm with jump out of the hand.
Defensive Projection:1B/3B.

Scouting Notes: Physical presence on the mound. Goes with a slower paced tempo to a delivery he is able to repeat. Slinging arm action through a high-3/4 slot. Fastball/breaking ball guy who sat in the low 80s. Breakin ball is an above average offering with later action. Also flashed a changeup. Mixed everything well, filling up the zone.
Fastball: 80-82 mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 2202-2232
Breaking Ball: 67-70mph.
Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1852-2014

2/23/20 Position Player
Hit: Physical frame with an upright balanced stance. Smooth and simple toe tap load. Drives barrel threw the zone well, with a level bat path.
Power: 92 tee ev. Easy gap abilities
Offensive Projection: Middle of the lineup and run producing abilities

2/23/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Utilizes a ¾ arm slot along with a slow and smooth tempo.
Fastball: 76-79. Fastball shows regular arm side action, mostly through the zone.
Curveball: 66-67. 11/5 break, sharp with shape.
Changeup: 73-74. Was able to maintain arm speed

2/9/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Bauerle shows a slow tempo to his delivery and throws from a ¾ arm slot.
Fastball: The fastball was 76-78 mph and mostly true through the zone.
Curveball: His breaking ball was 65-66 mph with slurvey shape and a tumbling type action.
Changeup: The changeup was 73-74 mph.
Pitchability: Average feel for his three pitch mix.

2/9/20 Position Player
Hit: At the plate he shows a balanced setup and uses a simple toe tap load. He showed an on plane bat path and drove his barrel through the zone well. Overall, good barrel control and bat to ball ability.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Shows a good swing with good physical projection. Should be able to develop into some degree of a power threat.
Field: In the infield he shows average footwork but plays through the ball well with pretty good hands.
Throw: 76 mph across the diamond.
Defensive Projection: Corner IF

Body Type: 6-foot-2, 220-pound physical frame.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Over the top, tight arm action. Higher leg kick without much drive from the lower half leaving more velocity to come with fine tuning of mechanics.

Fastball: 76-79mph. Slight arm side movement with more velocity to come. Locates in the zone consistently.

Curveball: 61-63mph. Near 12/6 movement and a solid offering that will continue to develop.

Pitchability: In the zone most of the time.

Swing mechanics:  Little bat tip with minimal load into his lower half.

Hit:  Produces a ton of bat speed and the ball jumped off his bat during his round of BP.

Power:  Big juice to the pull side. Gap to gap abilities if he can hit inside the baseball a little more consistently.

Offensive projection:  Middle of the lineup guy.
Field: Corner frame and skill set. Plays with feel over at third base with respectable ball skills.
Clean arm that should keep gaining strength with maturity.
Defensive Projection:

1/21/19 Pitching

Body Type: 6-foot-2 220-pound prospect with a physical presence on the mound.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Moderate tempo to a near max effort delivery. Balanced through the lift and stride. Works in-line, falls off to the first base side through finish. Uses a short arm action working through a ¾ slot.

Fastball: 75-76 mph fastball shows slight cutting action working on a downward plane.

Curveball: 58-59 mph curveball has a big 12/6 shape with gradual break.

Changeup: 70-71 mph changeup is thrown with deceptive arm action and offers above average run and sink.

Pitchability: True three pitch mix. Uses his height to create a downward angle on the fastball, really command the lower part of the zone with the pitch. Breaking ball is more of a get over pitch at this stage. Shows good feel for the changeup. The pitch has some deception and works well off the fastball.

Role: Too early to tell. Could fit into a number of roles moving forward.

Body Type: 6-foot-2, 220-pound very physical frame for class.

Swing Mechanics: Balance setup, vertical barrel launch with easy forward stride.

Hit: Intent driven swing, uses all fields. Minor path issues at times but he settled in towards the end of his round. Dynamic bat for class.

Power: 83 mph exit velocity. Bauerle looks the part of a future power bat, taking a much louder BP than exit velocity would suggest. Uber physical kid with a fast bat and the ability to naturally lift the ball. Ball looks different off his bat than other ‘22s.

Offensive Projection: Run Producer/Middle of the lineup.

Run: 7.7 60-yard dash.

Field: Corner frame with above average lateral mobility. Has feel for footwork and can create angles. Ball skills are average.

Throw: 76 mph across the diamond. Accurate arm with above average strength for class.

Defensive Projection: 1B/3B.

Additional Comments: Big time upside bat with rare power for class. Still needs to refine defensively but he’s athletic for size and should grow into an adequate defender that will hit his way into a lineup.

One of the more complete packages at the plate we saw on the day. Combines obvious physicality with a knack for finding the barrel, allowing to take big hacks without compromising barrel accuracy. Ball jumps off bat. Type of hitter who has a shot to hit for power and average. Second/third baseman type in the infield. Plays low and under control throughout fielding sequence. Ball skills are solid and he tossed it across the diamond with accuracy.
60-yard dash: 7.93
Infield Velocity: 63
Exit Velocity: 82

Showed the top raw power of the tournament. The three-hole hitter for the Legends absolutely landed on baseballs, going 2 for 4 with both outs kept in the park because the field didn’t have a fence. Baurele is mechanically simple, allowing his advance strength and hand eye coordination go to work. Making his juice more impressive is that he does it with a lower effort swing. Definite bat to follow.
