With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Colerain Cardinals

Team Name: Colerain Cardinals
Head Coach: Justin Yeary
Division: I
2018 Record: 15-11
Conference Record: Greater Miami Conference, 10-8 (6th)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/4

2019 Team Strengths:

Coach Outlook: "It will be a very interesting year competing in the always tough GMC.  We are a team that has some quality returning talent, but will mix in some young inexperienced guys who will be playing important key roles."

PBR Outlook: Coach Justin Yeary and the Cardinals will be competitive all year in the always difficult GMC. A combination of talented upper and lower classmen has coach Yeary ready to get the season underway.

  • Luke Murray (Video), C, 2019, 5'10 / 200, R/R.  3 year varsity starter, 1st team all GMC last year.  Northern Kentucky University commit
  • Cam Foster, RHP/INF, 2019, 5'10 / 180, R/R. 2 year varsity starter.  University of Charleston  (WV) commit.
  • Anthony Lawson, OF/C, 2019, 5'9 / 170, R/R.  2 year varsity starter.  University of Northwestern Ohio commit.
  • DeAnte Smith, OF, 2019, 5'8 / 170, R/R. 4 year varsity starter.  Mississippi College commit (football).
