Draft League Spotlight: Deylen Miley

Mike Rosenbaum
Senior Prospect Analyst

Player: Deylen Miley
Position: RHP

School: Bellarmine

Miley has some legitimate stuff and a history of missing bats in the Atlantic Sun Conference, having punched out 112 batters in 85.1 career innings (11.8 K/9) at Bellarmine, including 78 in 58.1 frames (12.0 K/9) so far in 2021. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound right-hander can touch 95 mph while sitting at 90-93 with a fastball that has both run and sink. Miley’s over-the-top release gives his 75-79 mph curveball a big 12-to-6 shape that nets him chase swings out of the zone. He’s had success throwing an 83-86 mph slider after adding the pitch to his arsenal last year and rounds out his four-pitch mix with a low-80s changeup. Miley’s control has steadily improved over the past three seasons.
