With the 2019 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2019 Spring Team Preview: Grand Valley Mustangs

Coach Outlook: "Be competitive every pitch, be consistent, and be mentally tough all year."

PBR Outlook: The Mustangs and coach Matthew Brumit look to continue it's success that they've had over the last couple of years.

Top Returning Players:

  • Logan Newell, P/OF, 2019, 5'8" 190, L/L- .354, 2 HR, 5-2 w/ 1.90 ERA 60K 44IP
  • Nick Reichek, INF, 2019,5'11", 165, R/R- .262 BA, 1 HR, Great Leader.
  • Gordon Seger (Video), INF, P, 2020, 6'2" 180 R/R- .343 BA, 3 2B, 3-3 w/ 2.88 ERA, Looking to add power this year with relentless work in the off-season, has already increased his velocities with both his swing and arm 3-4 mph.
  • Derek Jackson- OF/P, 2021 6'1" 195, R/R- .282 BA with raw power, 3-0 w/ 3.07 ERA. Looking to increase all numbers this season as he continues to get stronger while gaining experience.
