VERMILION - The year started out well for Jacob Krausher.

An 83-84 fastball at showcases last year had jumped three miles an hour at a pair of PBR events to start 2020, the Warhawks Scout Day and the Preseason All-State Upperclass.

“I was really excited,” the Vermilion High School incoming senior said about the numbers reached. “I didn’t expect to hit 87. To that I credit my dad and Adrian (Abrahamowicz). My dad has helped me my whole life teaching me how to pitch and about baseball. Adrian (coach of the Warhawks) showed me what pitching and velocity is about.”

A lot of dedication also went into it for the eighth-ranked uncommitted 2021 right-handed pitcher in Ohio.

“I worked out every day, threw bullpens every three days, threw light every two days,” the 6-3 215-pounder said. “My whole body was stronger and with that the velo goes up.”

While no visits had been made, Bowling Green, Charleston and Tiffin were talking with Krausher while Abrahamowicz was in conversation with Toledo and Ohio University regarding the 66th-rated 2021 in the state.

“Charleston was at the All-State and talked to me and I think BG was also there,” Krausher noted. “I had been to one of BG’s camps and they liked the way I pitched there.”

PBR Ohio Director of Scouting Jordan Chiero was also enamoured by the ever-improving Krausher.
