WADSWORTH - Bobby Perebzak feels he has the right mindset to excel at college baseball.

“I know I’m not going to be a flamethrower hitting 95-plus,” Perebzak admitted. “I just know I’ll get the job done.”

The fourth-rated uncommitted junior in Ohio has believers out there with offers on the table from Kent State and Marshall.

“I took an official visit in October to Marshall,” related the Walsh Jesuit left-handed pitcher, who was shown around at the Conference USA school by one of the players. “I didn’t know what to expect, but it was a cool experience showing me what college baseball will be like.”

Kent State was the first to offer right after the Future Games last August.

“I really liked the exposure,” Perebzak said of the PBR event. “The first day I got there I was watching them hit infield and scouts were everywhere. It was like nothing I’ve ever seen.”

The second-ranked uncommitted 2021 LHP in the Buckeye state did not disappoint with schools like Akron, Eastern Michigan and Wright State showing an interest.

“They like how I’m a bulldog,” Perebzak noted about what has attracted schools like Marshall, Kent and the other midwest colleges. “I just go out and pitch. I don’t care who is at the plate.”

The 5-11, 185-pounder has gotten better since an impressive sophomore campaign at Walsh Jesuit.

“One of the bigger improvements I’ve made is with my offspeed,” noted Perebzak, who had a 0.69 ERA with 1.82 strikeouts and 0.48 walks per inning last spring with the Warriors. “I’m making it tighter. I’m throwing each for strikes and making it look the same.”

The southpaw understands where more strides are needed.
