PBR Spotlight Game: Highland vs Revere

RICHFIELD ??? In a Suburban League divisional game the Highland Hornets traveled to Richfield to take on the Revere Minutemen. Thanks to a huge day at the plate by Siena Heights commit Ashton Budzinski and a dominating pitching performance by Ben Schroth, the Hornets came out on top by the score of 11-0.

The Highland offense scored early and often Thursday night proving to be too much for the Revere pitching staff. The Hornets scored runs in the first, third and fourth innings. The offense was highlighted by Budzinski (pictured right), a senior third basemen. Twice in the game he came to the plate with the bases full of Hornets and each time he produced. In the first inning his double cleared the bases and in the fourth inning his second double of the game knocked in two more. He finished the day with a total of six runs batted in.

Joining Budzinski in the offensive attack were two other senior infielders. Yanni Patten, a Mount Vernon Nazerene commit and Brandon Miller (uncommitted) combined for five runs and four hits.

The 11 runs were more than enough for the Highland starting pitcher. Ben Schroth (pictured below), a 2017 left handed pitcher silenced the Revere bats all night. He allowed zero runs on just five hits. He did not issue a free pass and struck out six batters.

The Revere offense was led by seniors Brady Tieland and Dave Neale; each with a double.

With the win the Highland Hornets improved to 6-7 and return to action on Saturday April 25th in a non-conference game against North Royalton.

With the loss Revere falls to 2-11 on the season. They host Canton South on Saturday April 25th in a non-conference game.
