PBR: Why did you choose Xavier?
Jacknewitz: I chose Xavier because I felt that it was the best fit for me both for academics and baseball.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Jacknewitz: I was considering Hillsdale College, Miami University and Baldwin Wallace.
PBR: Coach Otte just recently watched you perform at a PBR event. Was that first time that he seen you and did your performance help you in the recruiting process?
Jacknewitz: Coach Otte saw me at a PBR showcase and the Buckeye Scout. I definitely feel that my performance helped give Coach Otte a good idea of the caliber of baseball player I am.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Jacknewitz: Help the left-handed side of the pitching staff and maybe contribute at first base.
PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Musketeer baseball?
Jacknewitz: My biggest strength is pitching control.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Jacknewitz: Bishop Watterson summer team. Throwing a perfect game against Thomas Worthington and allowing one run in a win against the U18 Columbus Cobras.
PBR: Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team for the rest of your senior season?
Jacknewitz: My goal is to improve my skills as a pitcher and as a first basemen. My team goals are to beat Desales, win the Central Catholic League title, and to win the State Championship.
PBR: What were your stats for last spring season at Watterson?
Jacknewitz: W-L: 6-3 IP: 42.2 K: 53 BB: 19 ERA: 2.65
PBR: Who is the toughest hitter that you have faced in Ohio ?
Jacknewitz: T.J Alas from Desales.
