Game Write Up:

DUBLIN – Two teams squared off today during the Perfect Game Baseball Association (PBGA) tournament in Columbus today. Both teams faced off during pool play and battled it out for bracket play seeding.

’20 C Chase Kilgore led off the game with a line drive past the diving 3rd basemen for a single.

At the bottom of the 1st inning, the Black Sox sent their big arm out onto the mound. ’20 RHP Brayden Skibinski was FB oriented and pounded the zone.

The Ohio Surge threatened throughout the whole game, and was led by ’20 SS Nick Dymek, who started by drawing a walk on a 8/9 pitch at bat. Then later on, flied out to the center fielder on a 6 pitch at bat.

Skibinski threw 2 innings due to pitch count regulations and to be used on short rest later on in the tournament. He struck out a couple and did allow base runners.

In the 3rd inning, Kilgore doubled to the RCF gap and eventually stole 3rd on a good jump. He showed good speed on the bases.

The 17u Ohio Surge Prime, eventually went on to win the game 8-0.

17u Cangelosi BlackSox

Brayden Skibinski RHP / 3B / Grove City, OH / 2020

Skibinski stands tall on the mound at 6-foot-2, 150-pounds with a tall, projectable pitching frame. He has an ideal pitchers’ body with plenty of room to fill in. Has fluid actions on the mound with a slow to explode delivery. Throughs from a normal ¾ slot with plenty of arm side run on his FB. CB has late break on a 11/5 plane. Started the game and threw two innings on the mound. He was FB oriented and hardly threw off speed throughout the day. Did allow base runners due to walks but struck out a couple in two innings. Skibinski has all the tools and mechanics to be a big arm, we should see an increase in velocity soon.

FB: 81-85 w/ arm side run
CB: 11/5 w/ late break
CH: True and had some depth
