Body type: 6-foot, 195-pound athletic frame. Swing mechanics: Small leg kick that loads into his back leg, and loads up his hands well. Hit: Swing works. Level bat path that produces backspin line drives to all fields. Power: Flashes pop gap to gap. Offensive projection: Top of the lineup guy. Field: Behind the dish, he features an open stance with a smooth transfer along with quick and efficient feet. Throw: An above average arm with loose arm action. Defensive Projection: UTL.
2/17/19
Body Type: 6-foot-1, 197 pounds. Taller, sturdy build to him. Swing Mechanics: Wider stance in the box from this righty. Strong, uphill swing path with nice utilization of his lower half. Hit: Stayed on pitches very well while driving them with loud barrel action. Hits pitches to all fields too. Power: Still more to come but presented a strong 87 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Middle of the lineup. Run: 7.24 60-yard. Field: 1.98-2.01 pop time. Behind the plate he showed quickness in his ball to hand transfer along with other explosiveness in his actions. Receives it nicely both in bullpens and defensive outing on the field. Throw: 77 mph from behind home plate. Strong and on target. Defensive Projection: Catcher.
6/26/18
A righty swinger that starts in a balanced stance. Uses a slight back load with hands during his short stride for timing. Conventional loading sequence. A balanced swinger that offers a comparable combination of strength and speed through the zone. Showed line drive abilities in BP with flashes of gap pop. Really good athlete behind the dish. Very quick feet/transfer. Already a sub 2.0 guy with a chance to be even better once arm strength is added.
