Game Write Up:
HILLIARD – Two teams squared off today during the Worthington Wood Bat tournament in Columbus today. Both teams faced off during pool play and battled it out for bracket play seeding.
In the 1st inning, Diamond Elite scored early and took the lead at 1-0.
2nd inning, Ohio Stingers, leadoff man 2020 OF Hunter Mahl hits a double to RF, one hopping the wall. He eventually scores on the next couple plays. Score is 1-1.
In the 3rd inning, Diamond Elite’s own 2020 SS/C Andrew Gooding singles to LCF and advances to second on an error by the center fielder. 2 runs scored, one by the single and one on the error. Diamond Elite is leading 3-1.
In the top of the 4th, 2020 1B/2B Ryan Campbell singles deep in the hole to the SS.
Bottom of the 4th, 2020 SS/RHP Josh Timmerman hits a Sac-Fly to RF scoring one. The score is 3-2.
In the bottom of the 5th inning, Diamond Elite’s 2020 OF Jaxon Pittman makes a diving catch to save some runs.
Diamond Elite wins 6-3.

Andrew Gooding 3B / 1B / Lakota East, OH / 2020Report: 5-foot-11, 160-pounds with lengthy athletic build. Displayed smoothness in his hands and plus range. Kept a lot of balls in the infield. Has average to above average arm strength. Has a smooth bat at the plate as well. Athletic in his stance and swings with intent. Bat whip is present. Prefers the middle of the field. |
