OK Sandlot All-American Scout Day Upgrades: 2020 & 2019 MIF Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Oklahoma teamed up with Sandlot All-American baseball for the second annual Scout Day Upgrade on May 19th-20th at Broken Arrow HS in Tulsa and Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. Nearly 60 players from 2021-2018 class participated in the PBR upgrade. Each player participated in a pro style showcase to show their skills and record measurables in front the PBR staff. 

Though many of the players covered below are talented two way players, they will be covered as middle infielders today with pitchers analysis already on profiles.

Cole Emmons 2B / SS / Edmond Memorial , OK / 2019

A proportional 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a quiet, back leg heavy, closed, and knock-kneed set-up. Uses almost no load and stride before launching his hands on a sweeping and slightly uphill path through extension. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach, mostly flat, some barrels,  78 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.37 second 60. Defensively, in the infield, shows above average hands with deliberate footwork. Throws with a long arm stroke in the back coming through an over the top slot with some accuracy at 80 mph across the diamond.


Jack Harding SS / 3B / Jenks, OK / 2020

A slender 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame, with lots of room to add size and strength. The left-handed hitter bats from a back leg heavy, slightly wide, and open set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a quick and aggressive reverse toe-tap load with a late heel plant with an arm bar load before sending his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach, mostly barrels, 77 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.3 second 60. Defensively, shows average feet and hands with quick lateral movement. Throws from a high-¾ slot with a long arm stroke and some accuracy at 73 mph across the diamond. 


Kurt Kauk RHP / SS / Bartlesville, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-9, 155-pound lean frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an athletic open, wide, and quiet set-up. Uses a big knee-knock leg kick with a slight arm bar load before sending his hands on an uphill path with big extension. In BP, shows an opposite field approach with some lift, some barrels, 78 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.3 second 60. Defensively, in the infield, shows average hands and feet with good lateral movement. Throws with a moderate arm stroke in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot with some accuracy at 75 mph across the diamond.


Zachary Kober 2B / SS / Pryor , OK / 2019

A 6-foot, 175-pound frame with some strength and broad shoulders. The left-handed hitter bats from an upright, relaxed, and narrow set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a moderate, controlled, and hanging stride before sending his hands on a flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a spray approach, mostly flat, and a few barrels,  78 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.40 second 60. Defensively, in the infield, shows deliberate and clean actions. Throws from a high-¾ slot with excellent accuracy, 76 mph across the diamond.


Brenden Poindexter 2B / 3B / Owasso, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-9, 155-pound lean frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a balanced and athletic set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a reverse toe-tap load with a moderate stride before sending his hands on a short and flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a mostly flat and opposite field approach with occasional lift, some barrels, 82 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.70 second 60. Defensively, on the infield, shows bouncy actions with average feet and hands. Throws with a short arm stroke coming through a low-¾ slot with some accuracy at 71 mph across the diamond.


Caden Storts RHP / SS / Piedmont, OK / 2020

A developing 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame with room to add size and strength. Offensively,  the right-handed hitter bats from a narrow, upright, and relaxed set-up with rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth load and a short stride before launching his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field and flat approach with mostly barrels,  74 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.65 second 60. Defensively, shows clean and deliberate footwork with above average hands. Throws with a long and quick arm stroke in the back, coming through a high-¾ slot with some accuracy, 74 mph across the diamond.


Marc Turner 2B / OF / Edison Prep, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-11,150-pound lean and projectable frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a wide and slightly front foot heavy set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a big reverse toe-tap load before sending his hands on a short and flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows an all fields and flat approach, finding almost all barrels, 76 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.2 second 60. Defensively, shows above average feet and hands, moving through the ball well. Throws from multiple arm slots with ease with a quick release and some accuracy at 76 mph across the diamond.

JAX JEFFRIES 
2B / RHP / JENKS, OK / 2020

A 5-foot-11, 180-pound muscular frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a upright, slightly open and knock-kneed set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a smooth load, moderate leg kick and short stride before sending his hands on a flat path through extension. In BP, shows a middle to pull and flat/ground ball approach, some barrels, 74 mph exit velo. Runs a 6.9 second 60. Defensively, shows active feet and developing hands. Throws from a moderate arm stroke coming through a ¾ slot with some stiffness, 73 mph across the diamond.
