2019 Junior Future Games - Team Canada Day 1: Workout Notes

Cameron Chee-Aloy OF / SS / Neil McNeil, ON / 2022

Report: Chee-Aloy is an athletic outfielder with quick twitch actions that remind us of former National team outfielder Lucas Parente. Ran a 6.88 in the 60 while the bat was short and compact through the zone, lacing line drives to left and right-centre gap. The arm was loose and quick out front, showing carry and accuracy to the dish from right. Like the compete with spark plug energy, 2022 outfielder from the Terriers with present tools to his game.

Colby Ariss RHP / SS / Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic, ON / 2022

Report: Ariss is a smooth fielding, left-handed hitting infielder who will also jump on the mound with clean actions and feel for the mound. The body is long, wiry, and projects to carry more size and strength as he matures. He’s comfortable and relaxed at the plate with level stroke and hands that work well to the ball. Body control at the plate and the infield, the glove plays and funnels balls with ease, maintaining rhythm and loose arm allows him to throw from multiple slots with carry across the diamond. Big upside guy who projects well with his tools and the frame moving forward.

Blake Gillespie SS / OF / Medway, ON / 2022

Report: Gillespie is a 2022 infielder with feel and polish to his game defensively right now. Showed range to both sides at shortstop while the hands are soft and work in sync with his lower half with body control. There is life out the hand and good feel for the position. At the plate, its a short and compact right-handed swing that's more of a line drive, contact oriented but will go backside that doesn’t swing and miss often. 6.90 runner with actions on both sides of the ball, Gillespie is going to add weight and size which will take his game to the next level.

Joshua Jones OF / 3B / Academie Baseball Canada, QC / 2022

Report: Jones is a good looking, recently turned 15 year-old outfielder out of ABC Academy in Quebec. We got a long look at Jones the week before and there is bat to ball skills that in time, could translate into some juice from the right-side. Jones ran a 7.00 during 60 and had plenty of arm strength during the outfield portion with easy arm swing in the back and was able to get out front with proper rotation on the ball. 2022 that has made big strides in the past year and looks to be on the road to one of the top players in his class.
