5/12/19

Mitch Bratt LHP / OF / Newmarket, ON / 2021

Bratt, top-ranked player in the 2021 class worked three innings while striking out 7 as his fastball sat in the 85-87 range. He flashed a few curveballs that had late bite with 1/7 shape, a pitch that can be separator and above average down the road. It’s a loose arm with an athletic delivery, he’ll lose his release point and direction at times but has shown maturity and feel to make the adjustments and quickly get back on track. All signs point towards Bratt being a can’t miss 21’ arm and power 5 commit.

18U CPBL Opening Day - 5/5/19

Brandon Deans RHP / Our Lady of Mount Carmel, ON / 2019

Report: 6-foot-4, 210-pounds, medium frame with strength and durability which was evident Sunday as he went deep into his first game of the season. The righty sat in the upper 80’s, maxing out at 90 mph, using his secondary offerings effectively, his curveball was spotted, displaying tight 11/5 break. The right-hander got out front and located in the zone, minimizing opportunities for the opponent. He is an imposing hard-throwing arm who will be an interesting watch throughout the month of May.
