Holiday Hitters Series - Toronto: Quick Hits I

Josh Arce
Scout, PBR Canada

The second showcase in our three-part Holiday Hitters Series in Ontario took place on Tuesday, December 29th at NRS Institute in Toronto with our largest group of the holidays, 45 total players.

The event allowed players to update their profile and hitting metrics in an intimate setting with players receiving several rounds of extended batting practice, collecting data through our tech partner TrackMan

Below, we continue to break down everything from the event with a look at five of the standouts with reports and video.

Noah Gagol 1B / RHP / Applewood Heights, ON / 2023

Gagol, 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, put together one of the more complete rounds of BP throughout the Holiday Hitters Series. Looked visibly stronger in the box, Gagol had a 72% sweet spot percentage that worked to the big part of the field. There’s some whip in the barrel through the zone that resulted in a 93.1 mph max EV. Gagol has put it together at the dish and is an easy pick up for a JUCO.

Colm MacEachern 1B / 3B / Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School, ON / 2023

MacEachern, 6-foot-5, 225-pounds, was the most physical hitter in Toronto last week. Raw power was on display throughout all 3 of his rounds, living in the low 90’s with ease (91.5 avg EV). He worked mostly from gap to gap with some feels for the barrel and a max EV of 99.3.  Actions are still raw at the dish, but the overall talent and strength is present (360 ft max distance) and has the potential to be a power bat at the next level.

Wesley Saunders OF / Saint-Charles-Garnier, ON / 2026

Saunders, 6-foot, 140-pounds, wiry frame that looks athletic in the box. Projectable swing from the right-side, there twitch and bat speed that will only continue to develop and get stronger. Saunders was one of the more intriguing young players we had at the Holiday Hitters Series and will be a close follow going forward.

Lucas Cordeiro 3B / RHP / Michael Power/St Josephs, ON / 2026

Cordeiro continued to show why he is a top 10 player in the 2026 class last week. The athletic 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame continues to get stronger every time we see him. Quiet load that turns into an aggressive swing with intent to do damage. Quick hands and a flat bat path that stays in the zone for a long time, Cordeiro will be on the scene for years to come.

Dylan Nerlich C / OF / St. Michaels College , ON / 2026

Nerlich, 5-foot-11, 155-pounds, put together one of the more consistent rounds in Toronto last week. Quick bat with the correct path that resulted in consistent barrels up the middle and to the pull side (91.4 max EV, 85.3 mph avg EV). Stays balanced and controlled through his aggressive actions towards the ball, Nerlich had a 56% line drive percentage through 30+ swings. Nerlich is a young catcher to have on your radar going forward.
