HOLIDAY HITTERS - THE UNDERCLASSMEN STANDOUTS

We couldn't have asked for a better ending to the 2021 season than with our first ever Hitters Only Showcase. There was a ton of talent from the senior class all the way through the 2025 class and one 2026, who will be highlighted below.

As we begin to break down everything from Sunday's event, below we take a look at five underclass players who stood out at the Holiday Hitters event.

Logan Melo 3B / 1B / John Paul II, ON / 2025

2025 Logan Melo of the London Badgers was the biggest standout amongst underclassmen at the Holiday Hitters Showcase. The 6-foot, 185-pound corner infielder is advanced from the right side with bat speed and good rotational acceleration. There was consistent hard contact up the middle and to the poolside with exit velocity of 88. With the size and swing, you can put Melo towards the top of the list of 2025s we need to watch this spring/summer.

Aidan George 3B / OF / CASS, ON / 2025

Aidan George of the Ontario Nationals was another 2025 to show well on Sunday with his size, physicality and swing. The 6-foot, 180-pound 3B/OF has some current strength from the left side with bat speed and quick hands through the zone. The swing worked up the middle with a level swing, producing a lot of line drives with an exit velocity of 88 mph. We know the bat can play so we’re interested to see the rest of his game this summer.

Giancarlo Sortino SS / 2B / St. Maximilian Kolbe, ON / 2025

2025 Giancarlo Sortino was with us at the Jr. Future Games this past summer and our staff noticed improvements in his game these past four months. The Toronto Mets right-handed hitter is still just 6-foot, 150-pounds and you can expect his offensive game to really take a leap over the next couple years as he fills out. Sortino creates good rotational acceleration and works with a line drive approach. Another intriguing 2025 to keep an eye out for this summer.

Andrew Bishop 1B / 3B / Resurrection HS, ON / 2024

2024 Andrew Bishop was somewhat of an unknown heading into Sunday’s event but definitely made a name for himself. The Kitchener Panthers corner infielder is already 6-foot-3, 190-pounds and with his effortless swing from the left side, there’s a ton of projectability in his offensive game. Balls were jumping off his bat throughout all three rounds of BP and it will be interesting to see if his game continues to elevate as he continues to add strength.

Noah Glenn RHP / C / King Heights Academy, ON / 2026

Noah Glenn was the only 2026 at the event and didn’t look out of place with his 5-foot-10, 200-pound frame. The left-handed hitter from the Aurora-King Blue Jays has plus strength for an 8th-grader and his swing works to the pull side. His top exit velocity was 77 mph and it will be fun to watch where that number sits when he graduates in five years. Lots to work with in Glenn’s swing and overall package.
