Ontario insider: Inside The Rankings - 2019's Primed To Climb

The Ontario 2019 rankings are constantly being updated and expanded quietly the more we see players through our scouted events. An overall updated rankings will be released this March for the 2019 class with a major overhaul in store. But today we take an inside look at three prospects in the class of 2019 that are primed to climb come spring. Full list of the current Ontario 2019 Rankings here.

Kieran Gagnon OF / RHP / Westside Secondary, ON / 2019

Who Is He: Gagnon is a speedy and athletic outfielder with current strength and wiry frame at 5-foot-11, 168-pounds. One of the elite base stealers in the province, Gagnon is a very athletic player who shows bat speed and can play all three positions in the outfield with his range and above average arm strength for his age. The swing is loose and he creates good rhythm with hands pre pitch, the path works slightly uphill and allows him to drive the ball into the gaps.

2018 Outlook: We think Gagnon takes the next step in his development and establishes himself as a true centre-fielder in his league. The bat continues to play as he increases his strength this off-season and the hits and stolen bases build up in a very quick manner. Fantastic student, look for Gagnon to be an early sign in the fall of 2018.
