2.19.18 Despite a lack of size, Kieran is an incredibly athletic and toolsy outfielder who is a fun prospect to watch in the field. Still, there remains room for Gagnon to fill out and add more muscle as the 2019 grad continues to mature. Blistering speed immediately stands out. Ran a 6.5-second 60 with regular effort, was light on his feet, showing twitchiness and quick strides. Line-drive type swing at the plate, lifts leg slightly on the load, shows quick hands as he drives bat through the zone. Sometimes struggles to maintain balance through the swing, but with the necessary adjustments and getting enough separation, should be able to smoothen out his stroke. Shows athleticism in the outfield, Gagnon approaches the baseball aggressively, is quick and fluid in his transfers, and displays a loose arm with clean and quick actions. Ball comes out of his hand cleanly, great life on his throws that reach 86 mph. One of the more impressive showings from the New Year Open, Gagnon is an uncommitted outfielder with a strong arm and game-changing speed who should definitely be a player to watch heading into the summer.
7.5.17 Gagnon is an athletic outfielder with lots of tools who also can jump on the mound and eat up innings. Ran an event best 6.85 in the sixty with regular effort and room to get quicker as he gets stronger. Throws the ball well from the outfield with loose, clean arm and accuracy and swings it at the plate with quick twitch in the hands, at times will lack separation and get himself tied up, see as a line drive hitter who sprays the ball and uses his speed offensively. On the mound, no red flags with delivery, arm gets out of glove and works into 3/4 slot, at best when he gets over front side and is able to get downhill and create angles. Feel for off-speed, curveball has 10/4 and 11/5 action, changeup is straight with little dive at end. Strike thrower who can fill it up and compete well, fastball was up to 80 mph. Overall a solid baseball player, good feel and understanding for the game with speed and actions that make for a toolsy player. 60-Yard Dash: 6.85 Exit Velocity: 89 INF Velocity: 83
