Jordan Woods LHP / St. Ignatius of Loyola , ON / 2022

Report: Woods is a projectable 6-foot-3 left-handed pitcher out of the Terriers organization that is known for throwing strikes and mixing up his pitches, keeping hitters off balance and working to both sides of the plate. He can run his fastball up into the 86-87 range but for the moment, pitches at 83-85 with command and feel, with some deception to the delivery and movement both ways. He'll spin the ball and look to back-foot righties while he is not afraid to attack and challenge hitters. We've seen Woods multiple times ovee this summer and is someone who you want to have a connection with if you're a college coach and like lefty arms.

Future: As always, the big things with HS players will be how the develop and mature over the off-season, and with the 6-foot-3 lefty weighing in around 170-pounds, there is plenty of room for projection and strength gains to be made. This should help with the velo uptick and overall stuff, but one of the main reasons we are believers in Woods is his ability to pitch, throw strikes, and be competitive with his secondary stuff in the zone. The arm and actions work and the presence on the mound shows competitiveness and want. Woods is deserving off the Mizuno Prospect of the Week and will be someone we see a lot more of in 2021.
