Ontario Scout Blog - June 10
June 10, 2022
Our scouting staff has spent countless hours at fields across the province since players returned outdoors back in May. With the first full season in several years, we've had the chance to see far more players and we continue to highlight them below.
Scouting intern, Tillie Burlock, was around the fields this past week and provides notes on four players who impressed.
Tyler Pridham SS / Aurora, ON / 2024After seeing Pridham at the Future Games Trials, we were looking forward to watching him in-game. The 6-foot, 170-pound SS looks physical in the field with smooth hands and a solid arm across the diamond. From the right-side, Pridham shows an athletic swing and a smart approach, taking walks and moving runners when needed. With a 6.89 60-time, the uncommitted ‘24 shows promising speed on the base paths. His sturdy frame and present tools make him a player to keep an eye on as he gains more strength and develops.

Philip Cheong SS / 2B / Bill Crothers , ON / 2025Rankings StateRank: 3 / POS: 2
Cheong continues to be one of the most exciting players in Ontario’s 2025 class. Cheong looks the part on the field. The athletic shortstop showed off the ability to get to balls and field them cleanly this past weekend. At 5-foot-10, 160-pounds, Cheong shows the ability to hit and consistently makes good contact at the plate. The speed plays, and he makes high IQ decisions on the base paths. An exciting player to follow as he develops.

Alex Uher RHP / Henry street, ON / 2024Uher continues to be an interesting arm out of the Toronto Mets program. The 5-foot-9 righty shows athleticism on the mound and spins it well. The slider has good shape and sends hitters chasing out of the zone. Although he had some control issues early in his outing last Saturday, Uher still managed to get hitters out inducing weak contact and some strikeouts. An arm to continue watching as he builds on his command, Uher’s quick arm opens the door for him to make some big gains over the next year.

Veer Wadhwani SS / 3B / Sir Oliver Mowat, ON / 2024Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 4
This past Saturday, Wadhwani showed off his ability to hit in-game. Each time he stepped up to the plate, the uncommitted ‘24 put together strong at-bats, stringing together a pair of extra-base hits on the day. At shortstop, Wadhwani looked athletic with good movements to get to balls and good arm action with accuracy across the diamond. The former JFG continues to impress as he develops and will be exciting to watch as his projectable 6-foot, 180-pound frame continues to get stronger.
