UNCOMMITTED SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: JUSTIN RASPANTI, C, 2018
Justin Raspanti C / Everest Academy, ON / 2018Rankings StateRank: 67 / POS: 8
Background: Raspanti handled a lot of the duties behind the plate for Team Ontario 18u during the 2017 season and he looks to carry the load again this year as the senior catcher on the team. The left-handed hitting catcher shows an easy swing with feel at the plate, he stays balanced and between his legs with good extension through the ball and is not afraid to go the other way. There is strength there with some pop as well with an exit velocity of 89 mph. Behind the plate, Raspanti shows carry on his throws and works with a short arm from the transfer, getting rid of the ball rather quickly. As he gets stronger, footwork should become quicker and Raspanti has also shown he can play an adequate first base as well. |
