Earlier this summer we had the chance to see '22 RHP/SS Emerson Dennis (Central Catholic) in action at the Oregon Top Prospect Games.
The multi-sport athlete can do a lot of things well on the diamond. With an athletic build on his 6-foot-2 frame, Dennis has potential with the bat as well as on the mound. A big contributor to Central Catholic this past spring, Dennis heads into the '22 season with big expectations and looks ready to fill the stat sheet all season long.

Scouting Report
Athletically built with an ideal frame at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds. Chance to carry more strength down the road. Offensively starts with an open stance and has weight pre-shifted onto backside. Closes off direction towards pitcher with a controlled forward stride. Creates stretch/separation with a subtle hand load. Lands in a balanced hitting base with weight centered. Shows some repeatable rhythm with his barrel before launching swing. Stays level through the zone and keeps hands tight to body. Flat/lower finish after contact. Defensively moves easily with sound footwork and crisp actions. Shows natural body control and the ability to maintain balance while on the move. Consistent glove hand and exchange into throwing motion. Short, easy arm action from a 3/4 slot. Keeps momentum behind throws. On the mound, really impressed with his natural ability to throw strikes and command the baseball. Athleticism translates well to pitching and he understands how to move down the slope. Uses a consistent delivery with slight hesitate before hand break. Stays gathered on backside at separation and uses a shorter length stride into landing. Short, easy arm action helps him stay on time with his delivery. Keeps eyes on target throughout and finishes with controlled intent out front. 3/4 release.
