2014 Spotlight Watch: Tyler Walters



Q and A with Tyler Walters, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound, C, Saegertown HS, Class of 2014

PBR:  What type of training did you do this past winter to prepare for the high school season?
Walters:  I worked on Indoor hitting and catching drills, and also played high school basketball to stay in shape.


PBR:  Now that your sophomore season is coming to a close what do you plan to do over the next 18 months to catch the eyes of college scouts?
Walters:  I plan to play as many games as possible and will participate in show cases.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most memorable experience from last summer?
Walters:  I play for the French Creek Valley American Legion team in Saegertown, PA.  My most memorable experience from last summer would be going to the PIAA state quarterfinals with my high school baseball team.

PBR:  What position do you anticipate playing in college?
Walters:  I plan to play catcher in college.

PBR:  What is your current GPA?
Walters:  My current  GPA is 3.9


PBR:  What’s the biggest baseball event or tournament on your calendar in the coming months?
Walters:  The PIAA playoffs State Tournament is the biggest event on my calendar right now. My high school team, Saegertown HS, is 16-0 and getting ready for the playoffs.

PBR: Who is the toughest player in your class that you have played against or with?
Walters:  Kyle Wise, our high school centerfielder, is the best player that I have played with.
