'14 IF/RHP Sai Biasi, Hazleton Area (Penn State)
'14 1B/3B Greg Petorak, Dallas (Ursinus)

'14 IF Tony Melito, Berwick Area (Misericordia)
'14 LHP Mike Schwab, Pittston Area
'14 LHP/OF Nigel Stearns, Dallas (Niagara)
'14 RHP Jeremy Worlinsky, Holy Redeemer (Lackawanna)

  • RogersHazleton Area returns a ton of talent, starting with two-way standouts Baran and Biasi.  Hernandez is a gangly, projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pounder who rounds out an excellent trio of arms.  With his smooth actions, '15 IF Chris Panzarella is a terrific double-play counterpart for Biasi.  '15 1B Kyle Rogers (right) is an option to be on the receiving end of their throws while also providing some pop in the line-up.
  • In addition to sidewinding southpaw Schwab and the powerful left-handed stroke of Razvillas, Pittston Area will also feature '14 SS Patrick McGinty, who shows range to both sides and very good actions.
  • When '14 LHP David Marriggi (Towson) is on the mound, James M Coughlin will have the chance to beat anyone in the league.  Lupas is joined on the infield by another college-bound in Mike Wozniak (Chestnut Hill).
  • HoganAfter giving Wyoming Valley West a pinch-hit walk-off win in the district championship game last year, physical '16 OF/C Ryan Hogan looks forward to playing a full-season this spring before he represents Team PA at the PBR Future Games in August.  '15 RHP Billy Gregory hopes to step into the ace role for the Spartans.
  • If 6-foot-3 '14 RHP Scott Bean (Maryland Eastern Shore) takes a step forward in his development, Lake-Lehman could have itself a front of the rotation guy.

WVC Division 3

Returning all-WVC Division 3 Honorees
'14 RHP/OF Mike Blazaskie, Hanover Area (Misericordia)
'14 3B/RHP Matt DeMarco, Meyers
'14 OF Nick Deno, Hanover Area
'14 RHP/IF Kevin Evans, G.A.R.
'14 IF/RHP Charlie Karchner, MMI Prep
'15 RHP Joe Olszyk, Greater Nanticoke Area
'14 C Mike Sulcoski, Hanover Area (East Stroudsburg)

  • Hanover Area is on quite a roll, having won 28 straight league games and back-to-back division titles.  Coach Mike Zapotoski welcomes back seven starters, including the three players listed above and '15 SS Christian Pack, to a team that could be considered one of the favorites for the District II class AA championship.  Blazaskie, Deno, and '14 RHP John Wickiser (King's College) all return as mound contributors from last season.
  • '14 RHP Eric Gurzynski will front the pitching staff for a Northwest Area team that returns a numbers of starters off a squad that fell to Hanover Area in the district quarterfinals last year.  '16 IF Eric Evans found himself in the leadoff spot by the end of his freshman season.
  • G.A.R. welcomes back two-way star Evans, along with his fellow seniors in C Joe O'Day, RHP/OF Richard Sickler, and OF Steven Tyson.  A couple of '15s, IF/RHP Sean-Paul Williamson and Util Dawin Reyes, also return after contributing as sophomores.
