CLASS OF 2020

Josh MerrillJosh Merrill, 2020, OF, Conestoga HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing from a high-hands load position.  Utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to trigger his lower half.  Bottom hand dominated swing with some arm-bar action leads to some length to the swing with a bat exit velocity of 77 mph.  Moves around the outfield well and showcased straight line carry on throws of 76 mph to home plate.  Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash.

Ryan RamettaRyan Rametta, 2020, RHP/SS, Kiski Area HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 155-pound primary pitcher sat 73-75 with repeatable mechanics and a feel for throwing strikes.  Curveball showed 11/5 rotation with more spin than break at this point in its development. Also displayed a 70 mph slider with slight cut and a changeup thrown at 67-69 with near fastball arm speed.  The right-handed hitter starts from a wide, square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and replace stride.  Starts from a high-elbow load and showcased strong wrists leading to a bat exit velocity of 80 mph.  Demonstrated raw actions defensively with developing 69 mph arm strength across the diamond.

Carter RiebenCarter Rieben, 2020, SS/RHP, Downingtown West HS (PA)
5-foot-11, 140-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and strides to square.  Shows balance throughout swing with loose hands and a feel for the barrel.  Registered a 74 mph bat exit velocity.  Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash and moved well around the infield.  Displayed a soft glove hand with accurate 73 mph arm strength across the diamond.  Sat 76-78 from a high 3/4 arm slot with some arm side run to his fastball during game action.  Also showcased a curveball at 66-68 with 11/5 action while working two scoreless innings with one strikeout and one hit allowed.

Cooper WebbCooper Webb, 2020, RHP, Spring-Ford HS (PA)
6-foot-2, 185-pound right-hander worked solely out of the stretch sitting 82-84 from a low 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm and above average command of his fastball.  Also showcased a 70 mph changeup with similar arm speed and a cutter at 72-73 with short, late movement.  Curveball at 67-68 displayed flat break through the zone from the low arm slot and is likely a pitch that will need to be changed to a slider in the future. Physical frame with repeatable delivery makes Webb a righty to follow in this class.
