Game Recap: Neshaminy at Downingtown West (PIAA District I Playoffs Round Two)

Downingtown West 7, Neshaminy 1

Neshaminy got a fisted, two-out RBI single from senior Bill Ritchey for a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning. Unfortunately for the Redskins that was the extent of their offense on the evening.

Drew BrittSophomore righty Drew Britt worked six innings yielding just three hits. Senior Joey Zettlemoyer came on to work a perfect 7th to finish off the impressive pitching performance. The two combined to face just one batter over the minimum during the final five innings.

Downingtown West sent nine men to the plate in the bottom of the 1st inning plating five runs. JohnPaul Bell added a solo home run in the 2nd inning to extend the lead to 6-1 and Reyce Curnane had an RBI single in the 3rd to plate the final Whippet run.

Downingtown West was led offensively by Bell (2-4, HR, RBI, 2 R) and freshman 3B Eric Grintz (2-2, R, 2 RBI).
