Phoenixville Area 12, Upper Perkiomen 2

Mike AnthonyAfter spotting the Indians two first inning runs, the Phantoms posted four crooked numbers on their way to a mercy-rule shortened win on a sunny, windy afternoon. 2015 RHP Mike Anthony battled his command throughout his six-inning outing, but made big pitches when he needed to with runners on base, as he tossed up goose eggs after the top of the first.

Phoenixville Area was led offensively by by '14 DH Tom Kawchak (3-4, 3B, 3 RBI) and Susquehanna-bound Cole Luzins (2-2, BB, 2B, RBI), while '16 1B Jake Breyer reached base in all three of his plate appearances (1B, 2 BB) for Upper Perkiomen.

Spring-Ford 2, Methacton 0

Spring-Ford's 2015 RHP Bret Clarke bested Methacton's John Wiedmayer (Moravian) in a pitcher's duel under the lights at Ram Stadium. Clarke (3 H, 2 BB, 8 K) retired eleven of the first twelve hitters he faced on his way to the complete game victory.

Wiedmayer set down five of the first six Ram hitters (the other of which reached on an error), and then proceded to pitch himself into and out of trouble the remainder of his outing. With two out in the second, he walked the bases loaded before recording a big strikeout to keep the game scoreless. Three straight two-out singles in the third helped plate the first run of the game before another strikeout limited the damage. Then in the fourth inning, Wiedmayer walked the bases loaded again, hit a batter to force in a run, then induced a double-play to quell the threat.

Methacton got the tying run on with one out in the seventh, but Clarke got a double-play grounder of his own to cap a stellar outing in which he faced only four batters over the minimum.

Spring-Ford was led offensively by 2014 2B Connor Murphy (2-3, 2B), while Old Dominion-bound Austin Bregman (2-3) was the only Methacton hitter to solve Clarke.
