Wilson West Lawn 3, Dallastown Area 2

A pair of talented RHPs went toe-to-toe on Friday with a berth in the PIAA District 3 - Class 6A semifinals and a state tournament bid on the line.

Sophomore Luke Holman (Wilson West Lawn) and senior Alex Weakland (Dallastown Area) combined to allow just six hits in a well played game. Ironically it was the game's only error that led to the decisive run.

Holman, a 2018 and 2019 member of the Team Pennsylvania roster for the PBR Future Games, picked up the win going six innings. The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder struck out nine while allowing two hits and two runs.

Holman's one out single in the 6th inning knotted the game at 2-2. One batter later outfielder Brady Gibble scored the go ahead and eventual winning run on an errant throw on the back end of a double play ball.

Weakland, an Indiana University of Pennsylvania recruit, was the hard luck loser going all seven innings on four hits with six strikeouts and two earned runs allowed. Uncommitted junior infielder Peter Capobianco, a member of the Team Pennsylvania roster at the 2018 PBR Future Games, led the Dallastown Area offense with a pair of doubles and both his team's RBI in three at bats.

With the win Wilson West Lawn (15-7) moves on to the District 3 semifinals to play Waynesboro, a 2-0 winner over Red Lion, on May 28th. Dallastown Area finishes the season at 19-3.
