PA Director of Scouting
Ben Dum had a tremendous spring of high school baseball and has served notice that he should be regarded among the top two-way prospects in the PA Class of 2015. The 6-foot, 175-pound righty went 10-1 on the hill with 61 strikeouts in 66 innings and sported a 0.85 ERA. Dum utilizes a mid-80's fastball with considerable arm side run along with a curveball/slider mix to frustrate opposing hitters.
Dum is also an athletic third baseman capable of playing two ways at the next level. The lefty hitter batted .354 with 16 RBI and 20 runs scored this spring. Ranked No. 18 in the PA Class of 2015, Dum will see time at both positions during the course of the Midwest Future Games.
