A total of 93 prospects from three states took part in the 2016 Preseason All-State Showcase at Keystone State Baseball Academy in Manheim. Yesterday saw action in the two day event come to a close with a number of impressive performances.
Hollidaysburg Area High School was well represented with C/RHP Tyler Peterson (96 mph bat exit velocity, 2.09 pop time, 85 mph off the mound), RHP/SS Cory Storm (7.13 60-yard dash, 83 mph infield arm, 88 mph bat exit velocity) and OF/RHP John Servello (6.94 60-yard dash, 94 mph outfield arm, 96 mph bat exit velocity, 88 mph off the mound) all turning in quality performances. The trio of juniors also play together in the summer as members of Flood City Elite.
Following are a few additional take-aways from Day Two. Complete results for all players in attendance as well as analysis of prospects by position will follow during the coming week.
+ Ephrata High School sophomore RHP/OF Adam Schwartz (89 mph fastball, 92 mph outfield arm strength, 96 mph bat exit velocity, 7.09 60-yard dash) solidified his spot in the Class of 2018 rankings.

+ 2018 infielders Adam Smith (West Chester East) and Justin Wright (Hempfield Area) impressed with athletic defensive actions and advanced right-handed swings. 2017 infielder Pete Vaccaro, a member of Team Pennsylvania at the 2015 PBR Future Games, displayed an 87 mph bat exit velocity and a high energy approach to the game that is immediately infectious.
+ A pair of 2017 catchers stood out for different reasons. Arturo Figueroa (Central Dauphin) displayed advanced receiving abilities and the top pop time of the day at 2.06. Michael Haley (Franklin Regional) impressed with projectable frame and present power in his left-handed swing (89 mph bat exit velocity).
