Preseason All-State Showcase: Previewing the Corner Infielders

The Preseason All-State Showcase is set for February 15 and 16 at the B2B Baseball Academy in Manheim, PA. The event serves as the end of the indoor events schedule and an opportunity for the top prospects in the state to showcase their skills one last time prior to the start of high school baseball practices in early March. As we draw closer to the event we will preview some of the top prospects on the roster by position. 


Corner Infielders

This year's Preseason All-State Showcase has been expanded to a two-day event to better serve the number of talented prospects looking to participate. Day one will showcase position players with 23 corner infielders set to display their abilities.

The Class of 2015 has already seen 23 of the top 27 ranked prospects make Division I commitments. Among the top ranked and uncommitted prospects in the class, C/3B Willie Burger (No. 7, Lancaster Catholic) and 3B  Jared Melone (No. 43, North Penn) will showcase their talents. Burger is the top ranked uncommitted junior in PA. Melone was a mainstay in the North Penn lineup during their run to a Class 4A state title in 2013.

The Class of 2016 will also be well represented. Connor Hood (No. 13, Susquehannock), Jacob Haberle (No. 34, Gateway) and Kyle Glouner (No. 37, Upper Dauphin) are among the top ranked prospects on the roster. Hood runs a 6.95 60-yard dash and flashed a 90 mph bat exit velocity at the Elite Prospect Showcase in November. Haberle is a physical 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect with a 94 mph bat exit velocity. Glouner showcased two-way abilities at the PA Underclass Games in July.
