Top Performer Report

Walsh got it done on both sides of the ball, but stood out on the mound. Walsh is a capable hitter with strength in his frame and a quick bat. He is able to go with the outer half pitch and turn on the inside pitch and burn it to his pull side. The swing is extremely violent, so when he finds the barrel, you can expect some loud noises. With a peak EV of 93.7 MPH and a 50% sweet spot rate, Walsh proves that he has the strength to make it happen, he just needs to find the barrel more often in the 60-65% range. In the outfield, Walsh takes direct routes to the ball and is extremely aggressive, which is right on par with how he plays the game. Walsh is able to rear back and pull down at 87 MPH from the outfield with accurate, low throws to the target. On the mound, Walsh is working under controlled chaos. The movements down the slope are violent, yet he is able to move fluidly enough to make them all look smooth in the big picture. Walsh gets far down the mound and holds his shoulders closed, using his exceptional mobility, and snaps his upper half down into release. Walsh has the makings of a hard thrower and his velocity does seem pretty easy for him to get to. There is certainly more in the tank as Walsh holds his FB 85-86 MPH with a fairly average movement profile and snaps his CB over at 65-68 MPH with more depth than horizontal movement. Walsh floats his CH over at 70-72 MPH with quality arm side movement that is enough to keep hitters off balance from his heater.
